About Strouds of Emanuel County GA
Family tree of descendants of Thomas & Emilia Stroud, first known to be in Jefferson County, Ga circa 1814; moved to Emanuel County between 1820-1825 with their sons James, Thomas and John, and two daughters, Mary M. "Polly" Stroud & Sarah Stroud.

 UPDATE APRIL 2016:

Recent y-dna testing of a direct male descendant of Thomas Stroud (abt 1776-1831/32) resulted in a match with that of two other male descendants of John Stroud (abt 1726-1776, died in Mecklenburg County, VA, USA) and Sarah Morris Stroud (abt 1728-1772)

There is no clear evidence at this time that Thomas Stroud was a son of John Stroud but that
they shared a common ancestor is evident. Sarah Morris Stroud passed away prior to her spouse in the early 1770s. Thomas Stroud was born, per census records, about 1775-1780.

More ydna testing & research is needed to clarify the connection to the John Stroud & Sarah Morris Stroud lineage.
Welcome to the Stroud family tree.
